Simon believes that working in canine unit is the best job in the AFP. Based at Brisbane Airport, he works with 2 dogs: Cuba, the cash and drug dog, and Jock, who detects firearms and explosions.
A typical day for Simon includes feeding the dogs, checking their health, exercising them, and taking them to the terminal to go “on the hunt”. Simon is proud of the work he does with his K9’s, fighting the war on drugs and contributing to the safety of the Australian public every day.
An ex-Army infantryman, Simon has served his country since 1990. When he the didn’t want further overseas deployments he was lucky to score his dream job with the AFP.
