Report a crime to us

We can investigate Commonwealth crimes (sometimes called federal crimes) and crimes that take place in the Australian Capital Territory. To report crimes in the Australian Capital Territory, use ACT Policing's Online services portal.

You can also contact our National Operations State Service Centre (NOSSC) in the Australian state or territory where the suspected offence occurred.

If you wish to be anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers.

We police 9 Australian airports:

We also provide protective services to defence, diplomatic and government facilities.

To get our help, or to report suspicious activity at one of these places, call131 AFP (131 237).

We welcome positive feedback and support your right to complain. You can:

• submit a compliment, praising the actions of any AFP appointee
• file a complaint regarding the conduct of any AFP appointee or our practices and procedure
• file a procurement-related complaint.

Members of the public can contact us about:

In an emergency, call000 and ask for police.

If you need help in a non-urgent situation, call the Police Assistance Line on131 444 to be connected to your local police.

To report crimes in the Australian Capital Territory, use ACT Policing's Online services portal, or visit the ACT Policing website for more information.

Australian law enforcement and government departments and agencies can contact the relevant National Operations State Service Centre (NOSSC) to:
