AFP employee charged with dangerous driving in ACT

CORRECTION: The incident occurred while the officer was on duty.

An AFP employee has been charged with aggravated dangerous driving after an incident on 5 January, 2025.

The employee was charged with one count of aggravated dangerous driving, contrary to section 7A of the Road Transport (Safety and Traffic Management) Act 1999 (ACT).

The employee is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrate’s Court on 10 October, 2025.  

The member has been suspended from duty.

The AFP is committed to transparency.

No further comment will be made.
