Sudan-born man charged with alleged visa condition breach in NSW

The NSW Bail Division Local Court heard a matter yesterday (27 November, 2025) regarding a Sudan-born man charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated conditions.

The man was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Liverpool Local Court on 28 January, 2026.

The AFP charged the man, 30, on 26 November, 2025, after he was located by New South Wales Police members in Bathurst.

It will be alleged the man failed to maintain his electronic monitoring device in working order.

He has been charged with one count of failing to maintain an electronic monitoring device, contrary to section 76D of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

The maximum penalty for this offence is five years’ imprisonment and/or a $99.000 fine.
