A Sudan-born man faced Melbourne Magistrates Court yesterday (30 July, 2025) charged with allegedly failing to appear in court.

The AFP charged the man, 38, yesterday (30 July, 2025), after he was located in Melbourne.

It will be alleged the man failed to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Migration Act offences on 25 July, 2025. The man was charged with two counts of contravening a conduct condition of bail, contrary to section 49F of the Summary Offences Act 1966 (Vic).

This offence carries a maximum penalty of three months’ imprisonment and/or a $6105.30 fine.

The man was bailed to reappear in the same court on 12 September, 2025.
