Sudan-born woman charged with alleged visa breach in NSW

A Sudan-born woman is expected to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (24 December, 2025) charged with allegedly failing to comply with her visa-mandated conditions.

The AFP charged the woman, 40, yesterday (23 December, 2025), after she was located in Sydney.

It will be alleged the woman breached a condition of her Commonwealth visa by failing to maintain her electronic monitoring device.

The woman has been charged with one count of failing to maintain an electronic monitoring device, contrary to section 76D of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

The offence carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.
