Sudan-born woman charged with alleged visa breach in Sydney

A Sudan-born woman appeared before Parramatta Local Court yesterday (26 March, 2025), charged with allegedly failing to comply with her visa-mandated conditions.

The AFP charged the woman, 45, yesterday (26 March, 2025) after she was located in Sydney.

It is alleged she breached a condition of her Commonwealth visa on 16 March, 2025, by failing to observe her residential curfew obligations.

The woman has been charged with:

  • One count of failing to comply with a curfew condition, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment and/or a $93,900 fine.

The woman was granted bail to appear before the same court on 23 May, 2025.
