Vietnam-born man charged with alleged visa breaches in WA

A Vietnam-born man is expected to appear before Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow (29 March 2025), charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated conditions.

The AFP charged the man, 34, today (28 March, 2025) after he was located in Perth.

It will be alleged the man breached the conditions of his Commonwealth visa between 26 February, 2025, and 27 March, 2025, by failing to report as required.

He has been charged with ten counts of failing to report as required, contrary to section 76B of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.
