AFP Professional Standards finalises internal investigation into police conduct during Woden bus incident

The AFP Professional Standards Unit (PRS) has finalised the internal investigation into the ACT Policing response to an armed offender at Woden last year.

In November 2025, PRS self-initiated six independent investigations into police conduct arising from the mistaken arrest of a young person by six members of ACT Policing in Woden.

All six PRS investigations have now been completed.

While it is not appropriate to comment on the detailed outcomes of individual investigations, there was no evidence to suggest race or other discriminatory factors influenced interactions between police and the young person, or that excessive force was used during the arrest.

Consistent with the AFP Integrity Framework, any established findings will be considered for appropriate action. This may include a range of sanctions or other remedial measures.

No further comment will be made in relation to these investigations.
