Offences against Australian Government employees
It's an offence to hinder or obstruct an Australian Government official from performing their official function.
You could face up to 2 years in jail if, for example, you:
- hinder a uniformed AFP officer who's trying to investigate a possible crime
- obstruct a Commonwealth public official from carrying out their duties
- intimidate a Commonwealth politician not to perform their parliamentary duties.
Our Economic, Corporate Crime and Corruption Command investigates offences against Australian Government officials.
