Sudan-born man charged over alleged visa breaches in NSW

A Sudan-born man is set to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (23 October, 2025) charged after allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions. 

The AFP charged the man, 30, on 22 October, 2025, after he was located in Sydney

It will be alleged the man breached two of the conditions of his Commonwealth visa by failing to observe his residential curfew obligations. 

The man has been charged with: 

  • One count of failing to comply with a curfew condition, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
  • One count of failing to comply with electronic monitoring conditions contrary to Section 76D of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

These offences carry a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine for each offence.
