National Missing Persons Week
National Missing Persons Week happens during the first week of August each year.
During this week, we coordinate a campaign with the state and territory policing services.
The campaign aims to:
- raise awareness of issues that relate to missing persons
- profile long-term missing persons
- reduce the number, and the impact, of missing persons in Australia.
The National Missing Persons Coordination Centre (NMPCC) is a non-operational arm of the AFP. The centre coordinates a national response to missing persons in Australia. Our work complements the investigative role of state and territory policing services.
