Sydney man charged over antisemitic website

A southern Sydney man appeared before the NSW Bail Division Court today (11 August, 2026) for allegedly creating a website which displayed antisemitic content.
An AFP investigation began in July, 2026, after intelligence was received regarding a website allegedly displaying antisemitic content.
The website allegedly contained a number of online articles which displayed prohibited Nazi symbols, antisemitic content and a video containing extremist violence.
Investigators allegedly linked the man, 60, to the website’s creation.
Members of the AFP's National Security Investigations (NSI) team and NSW Police Force executed a search warrant at a property in the Sydney suburb of Jannali, NSW, today (11 August, 2026).
Following an examination of electronic devices, the man was charged with:
One count of public display of prohibited hate symbols, contrary to section 80.2H of the Criminal Code (Cth); and
One count of publishing violent extremist material using a carriage service, contrary to section 474.45B(1) of the Criminal Code (Cth).
Both offences carry a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment.
NSW Police Force investigators also served the man with a Weapons Prohibition Order and a Firearms Prohibition Order.
The man appeared before the NSW Bail Division Court today (11 August, 2026) where he was formally refused bail. He will next appear before Downing Centre Local Court on 26 August, 2026.
AFP Commissioner Krissy Barrett announced the establishment of NSI teams in October, 2025, to target groups and individuals causing high levels of harm to Australia’s social cohesion, including the targeting of the Jewish community.
