Geraldton, a coastal city in the mid-West region of Western Australia, is home to one of Australia's critical protection sites.

Joining us as a PSO in Geraldton means being a frontline defender against national security threats at a dedicated Defence facility. 

What you'll do

The Australian Defence Satellite Communications Station at Kojarena is a 30-minute drive from Geraldton.

Our protective service officers (PSOs) in Geraldton work alongside Defence to patrol and secure the Defence Satellite Communications Station.

As a PSO in Geraldton, you'll:

  • patrol the facility by foot, bike, or vehicle
  • conduct drone operation
  • protect critical Australian Defence installations
  • act as a frontline defender against national security threats and organised crime.

Geraldton PSOs work in small teams. So you'll get a wider range of work experiences than in a capital city role. You'll also get unique opportunities working alongside Defence.

Over $89,000 after graduation, plus overtime, allowances and penalties.
