Protective services in Perth

As a protective service officer in Perth, you'll protect Australian places, people and the diplomatic community. You'll be a first responder to national security threats.

Our protective service officers keep people and places safe from terrorism, violent protests and other events motivated by violence. This includes providing:

highly visible uniformed security at places like Defence sites
operational planning and delivery for special events and protests
first-response capabilities, including enhanced counter-terrorism first response (CTFR)
intelligence-led, risk-based targeted activities
stakeholder engagement and partnership building.

At Western Command, protective service officers deliver enhanced protection at:

Dignitary Protection Unit – protecting foreign consulates, internationally protected persons, Australian high office holders and other Commonwealth interests
HMAS Stirling – leading intelligence-led preventative operations to deter, detect and defeat
Perth Airport – maintaining aviation security.
